Congratulations to no. 3 seed Graeme Jolliffe (NSW) who won his first Australian Championship by beating reigning champion and no. 4 seed Josh Button (NSW) in a reverse of the result of last year's Final. No. 8 seed Paul Hirst (VIC) beat unseeded Janette Mackenzie (QLD) to finish 3rd, the first time a player from Victoria has been placed in this tournament. Both Paul and Kathy Upton (QLD), who reached the QFs, deserve many thanks for doing an exceptionally good job as Assistant Controllers.
