Reigning champions NZL A won this group by more than 200 TPs, almost breaking the 1000 TPs barrier.
Their no. 2, Shaun, won an astonishing 14/15 games, two more than any of the other 119 players in the WTTC.
GBR B won a Titanic battle for 2nd place with no. 7 seeds AUS A (3rd last year), but only by about 2%.
In an intriguing twist of fate, NZL A will meet GBR C in the QFs while GBR B will face no. 5 seeds NZL B.
All teams in the group won at least 26 games & at least one match, with SWE's win v AUS the biggest 'shock'.

seeds GBR A in the QFs in a half of the draw that also contains no. 1 seeds NZL A. No. 6 seeds GER A, the 2002
runners-up, made it into the QFs by just 11.4 TPs from FIN A with GBR D only another 2 TPs further back.
All teams in the group won at least one match, with HUN A winning all 5 and GER A beating all but HUN A.

No. 5 seeds NZL B won this group very convincingly with just over 900 TPs but GBR C caused a big
shock by knocking out no. 4 seeds FRA A after a fantastic contest that was decided in the end by less than
20 TPs. NZL C's QF opponents are GBR B while GBR C will face reigning champions & no. 1 seeds NZL A.
it is GBR C who will face reigning champions & no. 1 seeds NZL A in the QFs, with NZL B playing GBR B.
Every team won at least one match with GBR C's narrow 154.4-145.5 match win v FRA A being a crucial result.

AUS B put in a very strong performance to win this group by just 24 TPs from no. 2 seeds GBR A, enabling
them to enter the less daunting half of the KO draw with a QF v no. 6 seeds GER A. GBR A face HUN A.
AUS B & GBR A both won 4 matches but AUS B's big win in the match between these teams was crucial.
KEY: Indiv. Games = stats for individual player games; Sd = seeding number; Pld = games played
W = wins; D = draws; L = losses; P = no-show credits & penalties; TPs = tournament points
% = % of possible TPs; WBQ = approx. no. of game wins ahead of or behind the 2nd qualifying place
Technical note: To find WBQ, the TP% is multiplied the average number of games played by teams in the
group to give comparable TP scores and it is then assumed that a game win is on average worth 15.0-5.0 TPs.
Matches = stats for 15-game matches, recorded as a win when a team gets over 150 TPs
… but play ALL games, because total TPs over all matches decides who qualifies, NOT match wins
WBQ COLUMN: It is not that easy to judge from the %s how near qualification your team is, so "WBQ" shows approximately
how many game wins each team is away from the 2nd qualifying place, assuming that an average game win is by 5 tiles.
eg. if your team is 1.0 WBQ and you win a game v someone in the 2nd placed team by 5 tiles, your teams will be approx.
equal in % terms afterwards. NB. If you win a game v a different team without the team in 2nd place playing at the same
time, the WBQ will only change by about 0.5, not by 1. WBQ is quite similar to "games behind" as used in US sports tables.
