The Asian and African Tantrix Championships, played online, were open to all Tantrix players living in or coming from Asia or Africa. This was a new tournament to give players in Africa and Asia the same chance to play in a regional tournament as enjoyed by players in other parts of the world. It also celebrated the fact that Tantrix is now on sale in Israel, Singapore and Japan, which should mean that this tournament will grow quite quickly over the next few years, making 2004 the best chance to win it! This tournament was guaranteed to run if there were at least six players, including more than one from each of these two continents, with the highest placed player from each continent becoming that continent's champion.
The Asian Championship was won by Yoseph Phillips ISR with an amazing 18 game wins out of 18 and Tom Cunningham RSA won the African Championship.
