VENUE: Ankargatan 5, 61934 Trosa.

FORMAT: All play all during one day.

COST: 200 SEK which includes tournament entry and refreshments (hot and cold drinks and fruit), available during play on Saturday.

PRIZES: The Swedish Open trophy for the winner to keep until the next Swedish Open is being held. Medals will be given to the top three players. No prize money will be given but there will for sure be Swedish inspired prizes to all entrants – a tradition we do in every Swedish Open!

HOW TO GET HERE: When flying from abroad the closest airport is Stockholm Skavsta, followed by Stockholm Bromma and then Stockholm Arlanda.

From Skavsta you can get the bus to Nyköping, which only takes 12 minutes, whereupon you have about 1 hour by bus to Trosa. Cost is about 8 Euros per person, half price for people younger than 20. Tickets can be bought on the bus, but please note you can’t pay with cash, so bring your credit card.

From Bromma there are buses first to Stockholm, then train from Stockholm to Vagnhärad and finally bus from Vagnhärad to Trosa. This trip takes about 2 hours and costs about 20 euros. From Arlanda you first have to take Arlanda Express (Train) or Flygbussarna (bus) to Stockholm, from where you take train to Vagnhärad and then finally bus to Trosa. This trip takes about 2 hours and costs about 26 euros (if going by bus from Arlanda, around 36 if going by train).

Please note that it’ll be more expensive if you buy a ticket on the train instead of booking in advance. There are also some trains from Arlanda that goes straight to Vagnhärad.

ACCOMODATION: In previous years many players have stayed at a hostel in Trosa called Vandrarhemmet Snipan, where you can find information in english. Single rooms are from 28 euros per night and double rooms from 40 euros per night. Cabins and rooms are also available where 4 people can share. Only rooms in the old part is free to book since all rooms at Vantellet is booked by a choir.

We have made a reservation for 10 beds (in various rooms) on Snipan, so if you prefer to stay there, please mail us and we'll make a booking for you.

Other options in Trosa are the hotels Bomans, and Trosa Stadshotell, both of which cost about 100 euro per night. You can also check this link,(choose Accomodation) for further options.

PLANNED ITINERARY: FRIDAY 19TH: Everybody is welcome to Monica and Lewis’s house in Trosa (Ankargatan 5) from 4pm for a pre-tournament get together. Dinner and various activities will be provided including the following possibilities: A typical swedish game, brännboll [ˈbrɛmːbɔlː]) where everyone can join in safely could be arranged in the afternoon! Rules according to Wikipedia. A darts competition, if anyones is interested in that... Dinner will be a bar-b-q (weather permitting) followed by games (we have a good supply of spoons!) both inside and in the garden.

SATURDAY 20TH:: Play will start at 9.30 and continue to roughly 5.30 with an hour lunch break. Saturday evening there will be a dinner at a restaurant here in Trosa.
