This will be the 8th running of the Plate, which is open to all players who get knocked out in the last 64 of the World Tantrix Championship ('WTC') or earlier. Last year, 93 players took part, this year 95 have entered.
N.B. The Plate draw is completely random (i.e. their are no seeds in the Plate) and the 'decisive victory' rule does not apply (i.e. 50.1 TPs is enough to win a 5-game match), but games played in the Plate are Elo rated as if they were part of the World Championship.
