TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION NOTES

Nickname
If you have more than one lobby nickname, you must enter using the higher ranked nickname unless you can prove that the higher-ranked nickname is either only used for robot games or is now inactive. Players with an artificially low ranking obtained by repeatedly losing deliberately, will not be allowed to take part in tournaments at all. In fact, the use of more than one nickname in the lobby is strongly discouraged and those who run the tantrix.com website reserve the right to remove duplicate nicknames from the rankings.

Family Name
Important: All players must provide their first name and surname and these will be shown on the list of entrants and on the results lists. Exception: players aged under 18 must still provide their full first name and surname here but can ask us to only show their first name and the first letter of their surname on the list of entrants and on the results pages, though most still prefer their full names to be shown. So, if you are under 18, please select a different option from the drop-down list below, and please check with your parent or guardian first if you are unsure:

Name changed?
Has your Nickname or Real Name changed since your last tournament? by marriage etc. Please give details in NOTES at the bottom of the form.

Email
Please check your email address carefully because neither we nor your opponents will be able to contact you if it is wrong!
IMPORTANT: If you have an anti-spam filter, it may be worth adding tournaments@tantrix.co.uk to your 'ok' list to avoid the risk of losing out because you are uncontactable.

Date Of Birth
We reserve the right to request a copy of a birth certificate or other id if anything makes us suspicious about whether a player is not who they claim to be (or is not the age they claim to be if the tournament is an age-limited event) and to refuse entry if this evidence is not provided. We will of course not do this as a matter of course, but only in exceptional circumstances.

Country
Please select your country (the one you live in or the one on your passport) from the drop-down list. This selection affects the regional and national tournaments you can enter (and hence whether other players in those tournaments are likely to be able to play at convenient times for you) and the country you can play for in world tournaments. From 2006 onwards, your selection will apply until you next change your usual country of residence, so if you do have a choice, please think carefully.

Away Dates
Please also tell us any periods of 2 days or more during the tournament that you already know about when you will not be able to access email - this will save you from any risk of losing a match by default under Rule 8b.
If you are entering a tournament a long time before it starts, we may email you nearer the time to check that you still want to enter, and if you do not reply to that email within 10 days, we reserve the right to cancel your entry (or not) at our discretion. So, for your own sake, please let us know if you are going to be out of email contact for part of the month before the tournament starts too:
