(6) Zoltan Nemeth HUN ("Zormac") v Markus A SWE ("MarkusA")
Well - this probably isn't a match which has a long history to tell or would anyway draw many's attention (apart from, of course, everyone expecting me to be knocked out ) - but I must add that my worst-ever tantrix game was played against another member of the Andersson-family, namely with Nica winning against me by a modest score of 62-17.
Let's see how in-family inheritance dominates game outcomes I'm definitely looking for the match very much and expect it to be a tough challenge! |

Zormac-MarkusA 16-26, 20-13, 18-30
it seems I can go and buy my ticket to the Plate unless I get some speed up until the next session (and some luck, perhaps). |

Congrats to Markus (who is either the youngest or second youngest entrant ever - I keep meaning to work out which of he and Marina McManaway in 1999 was a few days older!) on one of the biggest ever shock wins.
I was awfully sorry to see Zoltan go out though He's an excellent player, and has put a huge amount of effort into this competition, particularly as regards translating things to help the Hungarian players get the best possible experience from the WTC, which is much appreciated both by them (I'm sure) and me.
I guess he could at least now get the record for the first player to reach two Plate Finals in a row. |
