Current Tantrix Online Tournament Elo Ratings
The end of 2001 tournament Elo ratings for 163 players based on a total of 2445 tournament games played can be found below. Ratings for individual tournaments are taken to the nearest integer and overall ratings are shown to the nearest integer but any ties are split according to extra decimal places held in the ratings spreadsheet. If ratings are exactly equal to many decimal places, the player whose rating is based on the most tournament games takes precedence.
I regret that there were a couple of errors on the list as originally published in December 2001:
a) A very minor error in calculating the ratings for the 2001 WTC means that some players' ratings for that tournament were one or two points lower than they should have been.
b) The ratings for the 1999 WTC were not deweighted enough. Correcting this changed a few overall ratings by up to 10s of points but fortunately the players most affected tended not to be near others in the same country/continent and while a couple of seedings for the early 2002 tournaments would have changed, fortunately it does not appear that anyone would have moved between seeding groups, so the draws for those tournaments would not have been affected. The most noticeable change is that the players in 2nd and 3rd in the table changed places.
These errors were noticed before the 2002 WTTC and have been corrected in the table below. More stringent automatic checks have been put in place for both of these factors and other factors so it should be getting increasingly hard for even minor errors to occur.

The order of individual tournament ratings for all-play-all tournaments will closely match the positions in the tournament itself. However, in a knockout tournament, finishing positions and ratings will sometimes tell a very different story. The player who wins a knockout tournament may well not get the top rating for that tournament, especially if they had a relatively easy draw and/or only just scraped through some of their matches.
