TABLE Tantrix Tournament Seeding List (based on Elő Ratings)

The current table tournament seeding list can be found below.

Elő ratings are the best estimate of your strength from the evidence of tournament games (TGs) you have played so far, but are less reliable when based on only a few TGs or tournaments so to give the benefit of the doubt to players whose ratings have been 'tested' over more TGs and should be more reliable, Elő ratings from less than 36 table TGs/less than 3 table tournaments are reduced when calculating your seeding points, SPs. To allow for the large confidence interval around Elő ratings based on very few games/tournaments or only on tournament games ("TGs") played long ago, the rating for seeding purposes is the player's Elő rating reduced by by various factors:

- a reduction of (250/36) for each 'missing' game if G is less than 36
- G is capped at 18 (50% of 36) for this purpose if the player has played in less than two tournaments, or 27 (75% of 36) for exactly two tournaments

To find out the reasons for the above adjustments and for further information about the seeding criteria, please look at the seeding method and FAQ page. The figures on that page relate to online tournament seeding points, but the table tournament seeding adjustments will move towards those numbers over time as the number of table tournaments played increases.

If you did not have an"established" Elő rating before, your SPs will have risen by more than your Elő rating to reflect the greater confidence in the accuracy of your Elő rating now that you have played more tournament games - so newer players' SPs may rise even if their Elő rating has fallen.

To see whether or not your rating has improved it is best to look at how your rating has changed rather than your position. This is because the constant influx of completely new players and newish players (whose seeding deductions disappear as they play more tournaments and their Elő rating becomes established) may drop you down the table even if your rating stays the same.

Apparent ties are separated by looking at decimal places even though seeding points are shown here to the nearest whole number
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR THOSE SEEDING TABLE TOURNAMENTS
Because only a few players have played in more than two table tournaments so far, it is not yet practical to seed a table tournament using table seeding points only. So:
1) If an entrant has played in a table tournament before, you should use the HIGHER of their table or online seeding points, i.e. the numbers in the BLUE column below.
2) If an entrant has never played in a table tournament, you should use their online seeding points instead - i.e. the numbers in the purple column on the online seeding list.
3) For all of the above players and also for players who have never played in any type of tournament, you should also calculate 2 x all-time lobby ranking - 250.
4) If (2 x lobby ranking - 250) is HIGHER than the highest value calculated in steps 1) or 2) above, use that as the seeding points for that player instead.

Advance notice: Now that the number of table tournaments is increasing, we are looking into changing the way online SPs are brought
 into the calculation so as to skew the adjusted table seeding points even more towards table tournament performance than they are now.
N.B. Players below are ORDERED by UNADJUSTED table tournament seeding points because this is the best measure of table tournament performance so far.
However, the notes above imply that the seeding order for any given table tournament may not match these positions exactly.
**NEW** As announced on the Aug table, the established table rating threshold has risen to 36 games/3 tournaments & now works the same way as online
SPs. The change in table seeding points due to this is shown in the "Chg due to Thd", the other changes shown are changes before the rise in threshold.
This avoids anomalies such as, for example, the one where Tamas was ahead of someone who got a higher rating than him in the one table tournament Tamas had played in.
